BOHOL EARTHQUAKE

On October 15, 2013, the Visayas Region of the Philippines was rocked by a 7.2 Magnitude Quake. Dubbed as the most deadliest earthquake in 23 years claiming  222 lives, 8 missing, and 976 people injured. In all, more than 73,000 structures were damaged, of which more than 14,500 were totally destroyed.

Immediately, the WISAR Team was activated. With the help of the Philippine Air Force 505th Search and Rescue Group, the team was loaded unto a C-130 and transported to the Island of Bohol where the damage was extensive. Having been trained in that aspect, the WISAR Team, went deep inside the far flung areas of Bohol where help is scarce and provided much needed assistance.
