He is currently working for the Energy Development Corporation’s Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response Unit (EPDRU) as Operations Section Chief. He is an Emergency Medical Technician and has been a volunteer responder and humanitarian worker for more than ten years, in various civic and rescue organizations.

 

 

 

NaynERWIN NAYN RANOLA, it all Started in getting involved on Disaster Management and Relief Team in ABS-CBN Foundation Volunteers a Volunteer arm of ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. in 1997. As a volunteer, and eager to help, started to get involved in the community of Saving lives and property, a Fire Rescue Volunteer and eventually an EMT-B. And Batch-1 of WISAR Philippines’ Batch Victor-Alpha. Since then all is history in Saving Lives in the Bohol 7.2 mag. Earthquake and Yolanda surge in Tacloban and various Wilderness SAR Ops. step0001WELLER FERNANDEZ,  a volunteer member of three different rescue groups namely, WISAR Philippines, 505th Search and Rescue Group of Philippine Air Force and Philex Foundation Emergency Response Team of Philex Mining Corp. My rescue training started way back in 1994 with Nature Badge Mountain Search and Rescue, one of the leading mountaineering group at that time and with Philippine Red Cross in 1995. I also joined the military type training conducted by PAF 505th Search And Rescue group in 1998 and with WISAR Philippines under Doctor Ted Esguerra in 2013 Batch 1. Been in numerous rescue operations since then, locating individual(s) who are lost in mountain areas, search and retrieval of calamity victims and doing other humanitarian activities. I am also active in training individual(s) or group(s) and help them to become effective rescuer soon. I am currently serving as Sgt at Arms in WISAR Phils, Team Leader in Philex ERT and an auxiliary member in PAF 505th SAR Group.

25ROMULO “CUBAO-2-5” GARCIA, is a fire volunteer at Cubao Zion Fire and Rescue (Firefighter, EMT-B, SAR, Rope Technical), and an auxiliary For the Bureau of Fire Protection-Quezon City Fire Department 3. He is from Wilderness Search and Rescue Batch 1 (Victory Alpha-Team Mangyan), and is a technical rope specialist and rope access technician for recreational and industrial rope and cable rigging. He is a trainer and facilitator for rescue skills and team building actiovities. He is a private contractor for outdoor recreational facilities such as those used in wall climbing and zipline courses. He is a technical and safety consultant as well as a dealer of personal fall protection equipment under K. H. Trading of climbing technologies. Two-five is a member of the Mountaineering Federation of the Philippines or MFPI, UP Outdoor Recreation Group or UPORG, Outdfoor Addicts and Aduana Mountaineers.He is also a motorcycle enthusiast, riding with R.A.C.E.R., Q.C.M.R.F., QUERO RIDERS, and a LAMBAT SIBAT Volunteer (PNP-QCPD 3)

 

MamjheJHE RELOPEZ, earned her Master’s degree in Business Administration. However, her heart and passion led her in a career on community service and emergency and disaster preparedness and response. During spare time, she devotes her energy into mountaineering, swimming, and dragonboat activities. Professionally, she is a faculty of De La Salle University-Dasmarinas for more than 14 years. Currently, she is a project officer of the Environmental and Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Advocacy Program under Lasallian Community Development Center. She is an Emergency Medical Technician and also an active volunteer instructor of Philippine Red Cross-Cavite Chapter, Wilderness Search & Rescue and Philippine Heart Association. She is also an auxiliary member of Philippine Air Force 505th Search and Rescue Group.

 

JophanJOEL PANELO, a also known as JOPHAN is one of the Senior Instructors of the Philippine Red Cross Cavite under Disaster Management and Safety Services as a Disaster Managment/143 Instructor and First Aid, Basic Life support, Accident Prevention, Swimming, and Water Safety Instructor. He is a member of Class 26 of the Philippine Air Force 505th Search and Rescue Group, and a volunteer rescuer for earthquake, landslide and flood of the Metro Manila Development Authority. Jophan is in the Board of Directors of the Unified Cavite Mountaineers Incorporated, and a former Instructor of the Black Eagle Karate Association of the Philippines. He is also a Gawad Kalinga Worker, a Safety Officer and Wilderness Search and Rescue Instructor from Batch 2. He lives in Imus Cavite with his beautiful wife and three children, all of whom are trained rescuers. They are the first family in Cavite and possibly the country to have trained in High Angle, Urban, Wilderness and Water Search and Rescue. Their family’s mantra came from the 505th Angel’s principle “these things we do, that others may live.”

ERNESTO V. TORALBA, is from Nagcarlan Laguna, but is presently working as a registered nurse, Emergency Medical Technician-B at Laguna Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Mitigation Office in Sta. Cruz, Laguna. He acquired a range of rescue skills, including Basic Life Support-SFA, Water Search and Rescue and Wilderness Search and Rescue. He has also undertaken Incident Command System courses which helped to shape the way he works. These have given a formal structure to many of the skills he had been developing on a practical basis. He perceives himself as a simple, fun-loving person, who others consider as sincere and friendly.

 

 

ArvinCarandangArvin P. Carandang, EMT-B, has been in the volunteer service for almost 20 years as First Aid/BLS and DRRM Instructor for the Philippine Red Cross San Pablo City Chapter. He is also a member of the ICS National Incident Management Team of the Office of the Civil Defense and a CADRE (ICS Instructor) for the Office of the Civil Defense Region 4A. A founding member of Ugnayan ng Mamumundok ng Banahaw (Bantay Banahaw Operations) and Seach and Rescue operator/instructor and a member/project leader of Climate Reality Project Philippines focusing on Climate Change advocacy. Currently, he is also the Program Coordinator for St. Martin de Porres Streetchildren’s Home (an orphanage based in San Pablo City, Laguna) and a free-lance media practitioner and communication specialist and involved in community development works and social and environmental advocacies.

 

 

 

Nino Lopez1NINO LOPEZ, is the Logistics Section Chief/ Research and Development for Energy Development Corporation’s Emergency Preparedness & Disaster Response Unit (EPDRU) and board member of Wilderness Search and Rescue Philippines.  He has studied and practiced survival techniques in Georgia, Alaska, Antarctica and austere environments around world for over 20 years. Today, he resides in metro Manila with his beautiful and patient wife. They have two little offspring and two unruly fur balls which can be considered weapons of mass destruction.

Involved in different WISAR operations and participated as stand by medic with Team Rescue 8 (TR8) activities. Trained in Advance Ropemanship Course under Doc Cecil Mendoza. She is also involved in Happy to Live.Glad to Give (HLGG), an organization who climbs for a cause in the remotest areas in the Philippines. She is an IT Programmer by profession and a volunteer by heart.
